Publisher Guidance

Step 5. Record your process and chart your progress

Make a note of what you do and the decisions you make as you go along, so that you can refer back to them when it’s time to re-publish. To help you keep track of progress, we’ll provide you with a Publisher Logbook when you register with our Helpdesk. These notes will be helpful for anyone who takes over preparing and publishing your 360Giving data in the future, too.

What to record in your logbook

  • The tasks you have completed, and the decisions you make.
  • What data you are publishing, and where it can be found in your systems or files.
  • The practical steps you take to extract your grants data and then convert it into the 360Giving format.
  • What you are doing to avoid publishing personal data or sensitive information.
  • Who is involved in checking or signing off the data when you are ready to publish.
  • Where your 360Giving data file is hosted online, and who is responsible for making sure the link stays live.
