Publisher Guidance
Step 4. How to remove or correct published data
You can remove or make changes to your data at any time.
Making changes to your published data
After you’ve published your data, you may want to add new grants data, change some details or fix mistakes. You may also want to remove grants that were awarded but didn’t go ahead, or update grants that have changed in some way.
You can make changes to your 360Giving data by getting a copy of your published data file and making the necessary changes in the spreadsheet. Then save the file and re-upload it to your website, replacing the current file. The updated data will appear in our tools the next day.
Requests from grant recipients
People and organisations who received grants published as 360Giving data can directly report any issues using our Grantee Amendment form.
This could include inaccurate or misleading information in fields such as the recipient’s name or identifier, description text, or location. Grant recipients can also ask for information to be removed if it’s considered personal or sensitive.
If someone raises a valid issue about data you’ve published through the Grantee Amendment form, we will pass the details on to you.
You aren’t required to make changes to your 360Giving data following a request, unless there is a data protection issue. We expect that personal or sensitive information will be removed promptly. In these cases, we will follow our Take Down Policy.
Sharing accurate and up-to-date information is good for everyone, as it means the grants data is more useful and trustworthy.
Changing how your name appears in 360Giving tools
The name that appears in the 360Giving Data Quality Dashboard, and on the organisation page for each publisher in GrantNav, needs to be edited by us. If you’d like to change your name or your organisation identifier, please contact us at support@threesixtygiving.org.
The funder name that appears elsewhere in GrantNav and our other data tools is mostly taken from the 360Giving data that is published. This means that to change how your name appears, you need to change the text in the Funding Org:Name field in your data file, and then re-publish the file(s). If your Funding Org:Identifier changes too you would make this change in the exact same way.

Taking down published data
A core part of publishing open data, and using the 360Giving Data Standard, is that once your information is published, it may be downloaded and used by anyone.
You are free to stop publishing data. And you can remove your file(s) from your website at any time. However, you need to let us know so we can also remove it from our system and tools, as we have a backup in place for 90 days. The day after you’ve asked us to remove a file, the grants in those files will no longer be in GrantNav. Please note, information that has been published before may still be held and used by anyone who has already downloaded it.
Take down policy
360Giving has a Take Down Policy for the data which appears in our tools, and we will remove any published data on request.
