Join the open grants movement
When funders publish their grants data, it contributes to a more informed picture of UK grantmaking, in turn improving charitable giving for the communities and causes most in need.
How to publish
Supporting organisations to publish open data about their grants is at the heart of all we do. Our publisher guidance and friendly Helpdesk will guide you through each step of the process.
Guidance for publishers
- Before you start
- Plan – see what’s involved, make a plan and register
- Prepare – decide what to publish, then extract and check your data
- Publish – host your data file and publish it openly
- Post-Publish – showcase your data and start using it
- Re-publish – go through the process again and improve your data quality

You’ve published! What next?
Congratulations on joining the open grants movement! Here’s how to get the most from your data.

Use grants data
Why use the 360Giving Data Standard?
Publishing open grants data supports people to have a more informed understanding of the UK grantmaking picture. But for open data to be really useful, it has to follow an agreed format – a standard – so it can be easily collated and used data from other organisations. That’s why we developed the 360Giving Data Standard.
Monitor the equity of your grantmaking
The DEI Data Standard is a shared taxonomy and approach which supports funders to understand the equity of their grantmaking. It was developed in 2020 by the DEI Data Group with support from 360Giving. We hold a regular free workshop which explains the key concepts and decisions for funders who want to start collecting DEI data. We have developed a DEI Extension for the 360Giving Data Standard to support new and existing 360Giving Publishers to include DEI Data Standard data in their 360Giving data files.
