Are you looking to make your grants data more accessible, impactful, and insightful? This practical online workshop will equip you with the essential skills to design and create effective data visualisations that clearly communicate your funding impact, trends, and stories.

You’ll learn how to choose the right chart type for your data and audience, understand core design principles for clarity and accessibility, and develop narratives that bring your grantmaking work to life. Whether you’re reporting to trustees, engaging the public, or informing strategic decisions, effective visualisations are key to demonstrating your value.

We’ll use grantmaking data examples and guide you through the process, from initial concept to final graphic. This isn’t just theory – you’ll leave with actionable techniques you can implement immediately.

This session is interactive and combines theory with practical work. You will be guided through creating and adapting commonly used visualisations in Excel and then will use a pre-populated Excel workbook to create and adapt some data visualisations yourself.

Who is this session for?

The session will focus on guidelines and principles around visualisations to make the most out of them. For the session, we will use Excel to create and adapt visualisations but the principles are the same regardless of the tools used.
